Positive Hull CIC

Everyone can sympathise with someone who feels lonely because we’ve all felt it too.

We used to make sure lonely people received visits and we generally rallied around within the community to bring them back to themselves.

Social care is unfortunately lacking essential funding and something needs to be done to prevent this epidemic of loneliness that threatens to place even more strain on already struggling mental health services.

Social isolation means we no longer know who our neighbours are, we no longer allow our children the same freedom to play and we don’t have that support network within the community that used to be so important to our elders.

Positive Hull drop ins are a safe and confidential space to discuss your problems and receive support from the group as well as signposting to hundreds of other services and of course befriending opportunities during our wellbeing activities.

Sometimes all you need is someone to listen and take you seriously. Someone who will treat you with respect and won’t judge your life or your choices.

We follow positive psychology and teach coping strategies for a more positive mindset, building resilience within our community. This approach compliments any existing treatment/therapy.
